Dr. Abdul Malik Jaber, CEO of Paltel Group, declared that the Israeli authorities released yesterday Jawwal’s equipments and exchange that were long confiscated at the Israeli ports. Dr. Jaber mentioned that these equipments will help relief the pressure on Jawwal’s network and allow it to expand its serves to 1 million subscribers.

During a press conference at Saleem Afandi Hall in Al-Bireh, Dr. Jaber said that the procedures to release the equipment started this morning and lasts for the coming two weeks. He further added that the equipments are released as a result of the diplomatic efforts of several Palestinian and foreign officials in addition to Jawwal’s declared intention to resort to court as the confiscation is not legal.

Dr. Jaber also announced a new US$ 22 million deal with Erickson Company for the 3rd expansion phase to serve Jawwal’s network. This deal will help Jawwal reach to 1.5 million subscribers. He added that Jawwal has started the trial period for its new system that was assembled in London. Jaber added that: “the important part is that equipments were released and the network situation will change. The Company will resume its sales operations for the new lines and cards after it was stopped forcibly.” He also added that Jawwal will launch a surprising campaign for its new subscribers; details will be announced at a later stage.
