Ramallah, Palestine- yesterday marked the launching of the first Palestinian Prize for distinction. The Prize is considered the first at the national level that comes to encourage the Palestinian Institutions and the technical and administrative cadre to develop and disseminate the concept of distinction. It comes in line to encourage the different pioneering ideas in Palestine and in support of the Palestinian Community to enlighten a new path in science and knowledge.
 
This prize is an initiative of Mr. Sabih Taher AlMasri, the well-known businessman. Mr. AlMasri said: “the Palestinian International Prize for distinction is going to represent an effective means to induce and charge distinction in Palestine. It will represent a tool to push the scientific and vocational institutions in the different sectors in Palestine to excel in whatever they do. He added that he will make sure that this prize is going to support the distinguished achievements and the excellent work that helps in building the Palestinian State. He invited all the institutions and the Palestinian cadre to benefit from this Prize. He clarified that there are many chances that this Prize secures hoping that it will better develop the Palestinian Institutions and that it will help pioneers excel in their ideas.
 
AlMasri asked all the pioneers to participate. He said that competing towards the head is endless. He added that the Palestine International Prize for Distinction is managed by an independent committee with highly experienced people.
 
In his part, Dr. Abdul Malik AlJaber, Secretary General for the Palestine International Prize for Distinction mentioned that the prize will have a tremendous impact on the Palestinian Community and might constitute one of the ideas to come out with new activities, implement successful projects, adopt them, develop and implement them. This Prize will mark the Palestinian history with new and distinguished ideas. He clarified that the Prize targets the governmental, non-governmental organizations, the private institutions, and the projects and systems of new administration, the people with special needs and any other aspects of distinction for any individual at the Palestinian Community. He added that the prize constitutes a valuable opportunity for the marginalized distinguished and pioneers who will be given the chance to play a vital role in developing the administrative and structural life in Palestine. It is also an important means for those who seek to show their achievements.
 
AlJaber added that this prize will be advertised and announced widely to allow all people to get to know about its conditions, categories and means of participation through the different advertising and media channels and through the cultural activities, the workshops, conferences that target the different audiences within the Palestinian Community.
 
Al Jaber listed some examples on the different categories of the Prize: (1) the distinguished employee Prize: offered to one employee from the public, the private or the non-governmental sector. The employee performance, achievements, an initiative is evaluated. Employee’s skills and capabilities are also considered.
 
He added that the prize committee comprises academics, technical people, honored personalities in addition to women and youth representatives. The prize follows a rigorous evaluation system that is transparent with high scientific and revisions detailed process with high degrees of neutrality, honesty and detailing.
